Here is a fine example of two great local guitar players. Both play many different styles but here they show some “classic” skills playing Tango in D.

Check this out.  A new study (conducted by Acoustic Muse staff only) shows that songwriting can be good for your soul.  Really, I bet most everyone who writes would not be all that surprised, especially if you have tried writing songs or others forms of prose.

Perhaps, one of the main reasons for all this soul goodness is due to our human need to connect to our own inner voice, or as Tim O’brien sings, “the one deep inside when there’s no one around.” Seems we are at our best when we, on occasion, connect to our truest selves, and doing so helps us understand who we really are inside, and how we really feel about certain subjects. Those thoughts may come out as charactors taking on a role but they tend to reveal the nature of The Writer Within.

So, yes…it’s true songwriting or any activity that helps one become more reflective of their truest selfs is good for the soul. Have you checked in with your self lately? You might find something special has been waiting for you…check it out.
